Rain, Rain, Go Away

Cupcake is excited about the potential for rain and/or snow later today. As we drove to school this morning, she reminded me that rain or snow equals playing with costumes at Toni's. The kids love to bring out the costumes there, but such fun is reserved for a rainy day.

Then thinking about rain reminded her of this song:

"Rain, rain, go away.
Come again some other day

If you don't, I don't care . . .
I'll pull down your underwear."

WHAT did she just say? Naturally, I am concerned.

I don't want my sweet girl thinking that the pulling down of underwear is funny.
And I definitely don't want her following through on that action.

I started a conversation about her song. We talked about being kind. We talked about alternatives to pulling down underwear. . .

"Hey Mom, How about this song? . . . .

Rain, rain, go away.
Come again some other day

If you don't, I don't care . . .
I'll GIVE YOU SOME ICE CREAM & CAKE!"

Much better. :)
